Never try to negotiate with an illegal lender, make them meet your terms, only communicate with them via email. Don't give them any options, tell them your terms.

What do I do? I'd rather reply via email, but what do I say? Can anyone help? I want to get this taken care of. Just to recap...they loaned me $500 in Aug 2010...and have since debited $1656 from my account (possibly more if you add one more payment). I closed my account on 2/23/2011; and they have been emailing/calling (which goes against what I stated in letter).
So what can I reply with? HELP...I don't want to screw this up!!!!
Sidenote: Quality Assurance Supervisor??? Yeah right!! And she looks forward to speaking with me?? Um...sure...you just want more of my $$ that you illegally took from me!! UGH!

Hi !
If you have already sent them a letter stating the facts about their legality, I would simply reply to them in this way:

I do not negotiate with unlicensed payday lenders. The state that I am located in requires licensing for the business model "Payday Lenders", without the proper licensing a payday lender is NOT entitled to interest and fees, your mistake.
I expect a refund on the amount of $1256.00 via my home address (insert) in the form of a cashier's check within 3 days. If a refund is not issued I will be forced to contact the Internet Crime Complaint Center-in affiliation with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and provide them with a detailed report of your illegal business activities. Be advised that I am not a patient person. You have 3 days.
I threw it together, you can also add other organizations, BBB, FTC, attorney general, etc., but I would make the letter short and sweet.
