Ok I am litterally sitting here SHAKINg I'm so upset! I'm at nursing school and I got a phone call from my maanger saying he had a message for me. He said a guy called my work claiming to be an investigator and wanting to get my side of the story. He left a number (which isn't a local number) and a case number. I had a sinking feeling in my stomach but called anyway. When I called back a man named Lomax took forever to tell me what was wrong. He kept saying he had to log his computer back on and he was calling me on a Saturday because charges were being filed on Monday, one felony and one misdemeanor. He said it was for a worthless check and then he VERIFIED MY SOCIAL! I can't b elieve these creeps have my ss#. He wanted payment and I told him to email me everything and I'd mail in a MO, He said that he couldn't do that but he would email me pay pal info. He was very rude (of course)

Now I know I'm not getting hauled off to jail on Monday over this. But it's SO upsetting. I have enough going on in my life without worrying about these useless scumbags!


Just laugh at him and hang up. I had one call me and leave a message. I called back pretending I was investigating a crime scene and asked him how he knew the suspect. I said we were investigating a homicide and that we were looking for the same person. I asked him if he had any knowledge of the whereabouts of the suspect. Meanwhile he overheard me tell another investigator that I would try to keep him on the line. He hung up and never called back. Too bad! I was having fun with him.

LOL!great idea guys.just know OP that the idiot is just that an idiot trying to scare money out of you.however i would file a police report of your own.that will do two things.

1)it will get the ball rolling on future action by you
2)it will put you at ease as your local police will assure you that this is a scammer and to ignore him,but i do like the idea of calling the creep and harrasing him.

(voice of marlon brando is vito in the godfather)i undertand you have been threatening a member of my family.why don't i send some boys to have a little chat with who is responsible.a little costra nostra if you know what i mean.

Those are all wonderful ideas. The idiot just called me again at work and I just told him that I had asked him not to contact me at work and then I hung up. I used the email address provided on the Pay Pal account I had for him and sent this:

Hi-

I have asked you not to contact me at work for any reason and I am now putting this in writing. I will only communicate with you by email or snail mail. I also demand to see proof of this debt that you say I owe money for.According to Federal Law, I have a right to see such things in writing. I also demand an address to mail payment to. I will not be sending any money electronically, via Pay Pal or otherwise. Any further telephone communication from you will result in reporting to the FTC and BBB and may result in legal action from me against you and your company.
