fake debt collecters with Indian accents

so I keep getting these calls from this so-called law firm in california trying to collect on a payday loan debt that I don't even know about...these guys...or guy I should say has called my phone# before by the name of John Smith...or David Brown...but clearly has an Indian accent or Middle Eastern accent of some kind....somehow knowing my name and # and wants me to fax info like credit or debit card#..last four of ss #, driver license, etc...my instincts tell me this guy is a scammer...any input would be greatly appreciated.

I used to get these calls all the time. I would just hang up. If they left a voice mail, I wouldn't return the calls. Eventually they stop as long as you don't provide info. In fact you may start getting calls saying someone is going to "serve" you. Ignore those too.
