Portfolio Recovery & ASSociates contacted me via phone after a supposed Fashion Bug debt was more than 15 years old!
I never had a Fashion Bug credit card and suspected that an employee from Fashion Bug charged up this bogus account.
I requested a list of itemized charges including my past address and credit card application from that time through the mail. All that came in the mail was a bill from PRA, that stated I owed them a certain amount of money.
Long story short; Portfolio Recovery ASSociates NEVER provided me with any valid documentation about the alleged debt, but still called me numerous time with rude agents.
I changed my phone number on three occasions, but PRA still seemed to get my phone number. Now they send me requests for payment though the mail.
Funny thing, nothing appears on any of my credit reports, past or present. This is not my debt but they are so rude and ridiculous!
I have tried to work with them, but they provide nothing. I find it apppauling that the BBB and Attorney General or the FTC do not seem to stop PRA's behavior toward consumers.

well you have to file complaints.the FTC will act only after receiving numerous complaints.file the AG complaint,and if you have then file a follow up.they will only act if you speak up.btw the BBB is a flimsy entity at best.
