I have negociated a debt settlement with a man in India. Evidently the debt was "sold" to his company and he is trying to collect. I requested he write me a letter stating the terms of our agreement and he was very hesitent to do so. He did have a letter sent to me but it did not give his name, company, and the return address was a POB in PA. How can I find out if this is legitimate or not? Smells a little fishy. Thanks.

a couple of things.first the man in INDIA is a scammer.do not pay him as this part of a scam that either bought or stole people's info and try to get money out of people.again a scam that needs to be reported not paid.btw i'm guessing this was a pdl as this scam gets people's info from pdl's.again a scam that you should report.use any phone number you have and file AG,AND FTC complaints asap.do not talk to this idiot further as he will start the stupid and illegal threats.file the complaints and ignore him.
