Should I stay in DMP with Consolidated Credit with just one card left?
Date: Tue, 03/08/2011 - 13:52
Hello, I am currently on a DMP with Consolidated Credit. I consolidated 6 cards in May 2010 for $11000. Now,all credit cards have been paid off except for 1. (I paid off my other creditors on my own after getting a big bonus.) Target Bank has given me 0% apr thru my DMP. Is it better to just stay on with Consolidated until my debt is paid in full or cancel with them because it is only one card that i can now easily pay off in 4 months? I fear losing the 0% APR if i got out of the plan though.
I feel that i am in a good place now but if there was a better and smart way, it would be foolish of me not to consider them.
Thanks in advance.
Nina

I will suggest you to remain in the program until your credit card debt is paid in full. If you cancel the program, there are chances that you'll be losing the 0% APR.

As soon as they learn you are no longer in the DMP, they will yank your interest rate. That happened to me when I was in DMP and had to default. Since you've only a few more months, I'd stick it out or accelerate your payments if you can.
Congrats on becoming almost debt-free.
