We have reached the point where we need to take some aggressive action regarding our out-of-control-debt. We went to lowermybills.com and have been contacted by Sizemore Law Group (a part of Progressive Debt Solutions I think). I can't find much info on them. The other company who contacted us is Freedom, but their BBB rating isn't so great. I know you rank them well, though. Do you have suggestions for us? Are any settlement companies legit? All of my research has left ,me confused. Thanks.


You can handle your own settlements and save the settlement fees. You will keep control of your accounts and know what's going on with them day-to-day. Not so with a settlement company. There are so many who take your money and run.

I settled 2 Bank of America accounts, Citibank, Chase, Discover, HSBC and negotiated payments with Capital One, and I got out from under numerous payday loans with the help of this site and the people on it.

You can do this. Just follow instructions under DIY and advice on this forum. If you have any questions, just ask someone. They will lead you along your journey to being debt-free.
