help!!!

11 years ago we were in SC and my husband bought a bedroom set, I did not like it, so we returned it got something else (didn't get another contract for the new one) just got the paperwork where we returned the other set. Never received a bill in all that time, now 11 years later we are getting a collection letter from a JDB, never made a payment, we have been living in VA for 10 years. What do we need to do? I appreciated any help or insight
