wondering how to get out of this

Hello,
My husband had a bank acct. many years ago and he had trouble with a company with a reoccurring charge. He asked the company to stop charging him and they wouldn't so he asked his bank to block payments to them. The payments still came through. So he closed the acct. with the bank and told the bank not to pay those people again. A month later they charged him again and the bank payed it even though he had closed the acct. and expressly ordered them not to pay it. He then received overdraft fees close to $200.00. He refused to pay since he told them not to pay those people. Years later the bank went under and was bought out by Wachovia. They sold the acct. to RJM Acq. LLC. It's been about 12 years is there anything we can do? (the acct. was in Florida)

Your husband ought not to have been charged with the overdraft fees. I don't think there is any need to pay the money. Also, the debt is past the Sol period.
