How long can a medical bill stay on your credit report? In my case,its been over 10yrs.. Plus the insurance company claim they paid the bill.

Any item will stay in your credit report for the next 7 years irrespective of the fact that the insurance company paid it. If 10 years are over, then the item should be removed from your credit report. You can have a word with your credit bureaus in this regard.

If the amount your insurance company paid was to be considered payment in full and you have proof of the payment, you should dispute it as invalid. If the account is still open, your fall-off clock hasn't even started yet.
