who owns my mortgage

Hi
I have been unsuccessful in finding out who owns my mortgage. In 2009 I tried to do a short sale with BOA and they kept denying the offer - then they said they sent it to Freddie Mac and when I called Freddie Mac they didn't have anything on me..eventually I found out it was supposed to go to Dyke Oneal and when I called them repeatedly I was told they didn't have any information on me either...now no one knows anything. I have had my property looked up and nothing shows on my property from anywhere other than it's for sale still.
Any suggestions?
Thank you.

Yes...I checked it back in October and it only showed that it was transferred to a 3rd party. The funny thing..yesterday I received a letter in the mail from the county registers office saying the lien was dismissed on the house. Now BOA had put a lien on it before sending it to Freddie Mac, but never approved the short sale. So I'm crossing my fingers now to see if they discharge the amount too!:shock:
