Oregon PDL Nightmare...Could have been worse
Date: Sat, 03/26/2011 - 02:27
i was separated from my husband for just over a year. He recently came home, but brought this nightmare with him. He makes over 700 dollars a week and is lucky to have 100 left after hes check goes in. Of course he came back because he knows I will fix this or die trying.
Some of the companies I have the info I need to get started:
Not Licensed in Oregon
Big Sky Cash - borrowed $200 Paid $240
500 Fast Cash - borrowed $300 - Paid $410
PDL Now - borrowed $200 - Paid $220
Global Financial Group - borrowed $500 - paid $375
DID NOT SIGN UP FOR THESE TWO! Money was put in and since he doesnt even really look at the bank statements or online banking, he didnt even know until he came home and I had him look so I could assess the damage...
Beacon Financial Group (Beacon Lending) - borrowed $200 - paid $445
Star Cash Processing - borrowed $350 - paid $315
The one that I havnt been able to verify on my own if its legit in Oregon:
Fleet Marketing Inc. aka Jet Lending Inc. Address I have is in Laewood Kansas, and the $400 loan has almost been paid if its not legit, paid total of $360.
I have tons of info from aka's, dba's, many phone numbers, names of people that "work" for them and either call or answer customer calls.
Any help from those of you that have been around a bit would be greatly appreciated!
Now I must get to writing c&d letters and withdraw his ach auths. I have e-mails addresses for all except for Beacon, and PDLNOW.COM said to complete online ticket for help. They said they have no loan documents to send to me. HMMMMMM, whats that tell you??
And I almost forgot, the Credit Union he uses is making it a problem to freeze or put a deposit only status or hard debit block on his account. I believe that the info I did find about that shows that its something they have to do if we demand they do. Is it the same for all states, or is there a place to find the info for Oregon specifically?
I am just thankful that this didnt get even more out of hand.....Hopefully by proving that two of the companies didnt have signed contracts and just sent the money without him being aware I can get some of the several hundreds on fees removed off the checking account. Thanks again for all the priceless info...

Regarding the payday loan companies that are not licensed - Your husband is not liable to pay any more money since he has already repaid the principal amount. Rather he should ask for the refund of the extra money he has paid.
Regarding the accounts he has not signed - Has he spent the money. If he has not spent the money yet, then ask the bank branch manager to revert the money. If he has used the money then he is liable to make payments on it.
You may get some resource on Jet lending from this thread:

First I wanted to clarify that the two PDL companies that he didnt ever sign for, are also unlicensed in the state of Oregon. I am so concerned that I might do something in the wrong order now or just plain miss a step. I feel prepared, but for some strange reason I feel a whole bunch of anxiety over this issue.
Is it normal to feel so apprehensive before making the first actual step??? Lol, I guess Monday morning is soon enough, and I should feel ready I hope!
Your first step is to close the checking account. ACH blocks do
Your first step is to close the checking account. ACH blocks do not always work because they do business under many names and will debit different amounts. The only way you can be certain to secure your money is to close the account. Once you do that, then you can send your letters. If they receive the letter before you close the account, they will waste no time in debiting your account.
Your bank is obligated to stop an ACH transaction, however, you must notify them in writing 3 business days before the ACH is to come through. Then you stand the chance of it going through anyway.
thank you soooo much. Yhis forum and the members here are a god
