This may not be a good topic to bring up. If not, my apologies. But I just found your site, and I have done a lot of research. I am starting my process of ridding myself from internet payday loans tomorrow. And i am very grateful to all of you for this priceless information I have found on this site. So, my question:

What horror stories have you guys experienced while going through this process? Such as phone calls at work, mail, mail at work, etc.?

I have no problem dealing with them when they call my personal phone. But my work phone is another story, that I'm really worried about. I share an office with 7 other guys, we have one phone line, and no one is usually in there, except my boss to answer the phone or another random co worker.

The loans I have are from:
MyCashNow
MyPaydayMax
UnitedCashLoans
OneClickCash
CashYes
AdvanceMeToday

And I live in Washington State.

I came to this website in July 2009 with 8 internet payday loans which are illegal in NJ. I was financially sinking, not able to pay my utilities, car loan, charges etc. because of the withdrawals from my account. (How I got into that situation is another story).

I closed my checking account. I e-mailed and fax the ACH revocation letters, and for the ones that I overpaid I requested a refund. I stipulated in my letter that they were not to call me at work and gave them my cell. Once they received my letters, I started being inundated with phone calls and e-mails. When I took out the loans, I never gave my home phone.

I proceeded to resend my letters and they would respond saying I owed them money, blah blah blah. Eastside Lenders was the toughest. I never heard again from One Click Cash, and one pdl sent me a refund.

Interestingly, I never received any communication via US mail. Only e-mail and phone calls. The few times they did call my work, I told them I couldn't get personal calls and hung up.

You will have to grit your teeth for the next couple months.

Today I am payday loan free......

Same here; if you get calls at work, you can hang up on them. If you're worried about your coworkers getting the calls, tell them you're a victim of a financial scam (well, you are), and that they should hang up on any such callers. The only companies I had to deal with that are on your list were MyCashNow and United Cash Loans. Sorry to say, they're 2 of the biggest pains out there. But stick to your guns, file your letters and complaints, and if they call with threats, hang up; they can't argue with a dial tone.
