You have reported an amount of $67 as a chargeoff or collection on my credit reports. You have provided an acct # of 12004XXX (623YC06343), date opened 01/2011. I have been unable to find any information concerning your claim. The only account I can find that ever had a $67 balance was Dominion Virginia Power that was paid on their website; verification # 5502099731. Please have this report removed from my credit record immediately. I never even received a call about this supposed debt.

Hi, Linda. You've posted your request to a public forum where people share information regarding getting out of debt. We are not reporting anything on your credit report. I suggest you contact whomever is via US Postal mail and request validation of the debt. You should also dispute the debt with the 3 credit bureaus.

I just called the toll free phone number provided on the CBE Group website and spoke to a man who identified himself as Anthony. He checked my record with his company using my full name, my address (former) and my social security and could find nothing in their database for me. However, he said there was nothing he could do that I would have to dispute with the credit agency, which I promptly told him I should not have to be doing and that my credit report and score should not be ruined because of their inacurrate reporting and ineptitude. I am so angry that these people are allowed to get by with this.

You could sue for violations of the FCRA, if you're so inclined.

A ???debt collector,??? as defined in Section 803(6) of the FDCPA, 15 USC 1692a(6) furnishes information to consumer reporting agencies as part of its debt collection activities and therefore is subject to Section 623 of the FCRA, 15 U.S.C. 1681s-2, which imposes a series of duties and prohibitions upon any person or entity that furnishes information to a consumer reporting agency.

Section 621(a)(2) of the FCRA, 15 U.S.C. 1681s(a)(2), authorizes the Court to award monetary civil penalties of not more than $2,500 per violation of Section 623(a)(5).
