Hi, Mann Bracken was constantly calling me and sending me letter for a period of time. I finally settled with them in august of 2009, I received a letter stating that I've settled. I was told to give it some time amd check my report...I just assumed they were a legit company since I had googled them and read up on the company a tiny bit. I recently checked my credit report and Mann bracken is not listed on the report nor is it listed that I have settled with them I do have a settlement letter and receipt that I have made a payment, what do I do?

But i have paid Mann Bracken. On my credit report, my previous account that Mann Bracken purchased, states closed transferred, it does not state where it was transferred to and that it has been paid off. I spoke with an individual at Equifax and they stated that even with the settlement letter they are unable to input information that is not already there. In other words since Mann Bracken did not report that they had possession of my account, they themselves are prohibited from adding Mann Bracken to my credit score. Any suggestions as to how I resolve this, I have paid this off, and have receipts and a letter confirming that it has been paid off.

If they do place Mann bracken in my credit report, and the report demonstrated that they(Mann Bracken) had purchased my account from another creditor, and I have paid them, will this not help raise my credit score? Will this by any means hurt my credit? I settled and paid so that i may be able to improve my credit score....what do i do? send my letters despite what I was told, and demanded to speak with their superiors until they place it in my report? By them placing Mann Bracken in my credit report, will this decrease my score?

I don't want it removed, i wish to add that I have settled with Mann bracken who purchased my account from the previous account holder. My credit report stated that previous account holder, has closed and transferred my score. This whole ordeal has obviously caused my credit score to go down. I am fairly young, and can not afford to have bad credit, therefor i settled with Mann Bracken, but they never reported having possession of my account or that I had settled. By them not reporting possession of my account, it did not hurt my credit score? And if they reported it, my score would have decreased, and by settling with them, it would have only somewhat repaired the damage they had done and not in anyway repair the damage that had been caused by the original account holder who had reported to the credit bureaus? or is it if Mann Bracken reported that they had purchased my account from the original account holders and that i settled with them, my credit score would improve overall? I am under the impression that my score would improve overall.
