MD and TX are probably the best states you can live in when it comes to fighting these PDLs. You'll be in good hands with the Commissioner's office.

I'll second what OhioGal said; contact the dept. of Financial Regulation, they are a LOT of help. I'm surprised that your bank is taking such an attitude. Is the account still open w/ a negative balance? If so, can you at least put it on a deposit only status until you get the negative balance cleared up? (make sure they won't charge you for returned ACHs'). But please, DO try and get in touch with the Financial Reg. Dept., it's worth the time and effort.

Thanks for all the advice and positivity. I am so frustrated and just have no idea what to do next. The account is still open I cannot close it until the negative balance is cleared up, Yes I did speak with the manager and he was the one giving me the most attitude and telling me that they dont offer a deposit only account. I will try again to get in touch with the Commissioners office tomorrow. I just wish I could get some of these companies to issue refunds.
Is there any way you can bring the account to a positive status
Is there any way you can bring the account to a positive status - and then close it? You can continue your fight with that bank, but at least your funds will be safeguarded - in another bank.
