When I questioned LoanPointUSA's legality in MI (my home state) the collection rep stated that LoanPointUSA is not a store front lender but can rule under the laws of Delaware.
When I further questioned how the current balanced owed was calculated the rep rudely stated, "ok, we'll request that from the lender, anything else? Good bye."
I don't get a warm and fuzzy feeling that either of these parties is legit - any insight?

If they are unable to validate the debt, then you won't be liable for paying them anything. You can send them a cease and desist letter and ask them to stop calling you any further regarding the debt.

I also received a letter from Alliance Asset, who were collecting on behalf of East Side Lenders. I got a call at work on 03/18/11 and sent them a C&D letter as well as a debt validation letter that same day, certified mail. I included a copy of the desist and refrain order against East Side Lenders in the state of CA. They received it on 03/21/11. I have not heard anything from them either by mail or telephone.

East Side said they would settle for $185 AAM is trying to collect $370. I paid East side the 400 i borrowed. Where can i get c & d letter and a debt validation letter.
