First, take a deep breath. Things will be alright. I started out with 8 internet payday lenders and 2 store fronts and now I only owe 1 storefront.
What State do you live? This important information because if a payday lender is not licensed to do business in your State, then you are only morally obligated to pay back the principal balance (no interest/fees).
The most important thing to do is close your bank account immediately so no more ACHs come out.
Tell me what State you live in and we can help you determine whether or not the lenders are licensed in your State.

1)amount borrowed from each
2)amount debited by each thus far
you see if the amount in line 2 meets or exceeds the amount in line 1 you owe nothing.go to the sticky titled DEALING WITH ILLEGAL LENDERS.it will guide you with template letters and every step.the first step is closing your current account.

Java, go back and read some of my posts!! You are not alone and have felt like giving up sooo many times.... I have been working at this for about 10 months and have made some huge headway and even gotten some refunds big and small. The only recommendation I would give would be persistant!! It's hard I know!! Currently I'm dealing with phone calls which have arisen from this nightmare but I am trying to remain strong. I've had many weak moments I admit and some days are harder than others but the steps outlined on here do work!! You are not alone!

You all have given me hope and first thing Monday I am going to my bank and closing my account after speaking with the bank and prepare myself for what I know is going to be a battle. But these so called lenders got me in such a trap but you all have given me some hope. Thank you

Most PDL's are illegal, anyway. You may want to find out which ones, in your state, are illegal. I live in the state of PA. I don't think any PDL's are legal here. I knw it can get overwhelming trying to deal with PDL's. They can get pretty pushy and call so many times. Howevr....there IS a 'light at the end of the tunnel'.

Can they garnish my wages? Do I notify them (the pdls) that I need to make payment arrangements via phone email or in writing? I am going to my bank tomorrow to close out my account. What is my next step after I close my bank account? Will they call my job?

in a word no as they would have to take you to court in your town, county, village,or bourough.you must submit a WAGE ASSIGNMENT REVOCATION letter to your HR or payroll person then send it to the pdl's.go to the sticky titked DEALING WITH ILLEGAL LENDERS.that will give you every step and templates for the letters.follow that to the letter,do not skip steps.btw i'll level with you yes these illegal scum will call your job as they don't care about the law.if they did they would not have lent you in the first place.as for paying.make sure you owe before coming to that part.

Ok, so how do I determine if I owe or not? Is there a formula I go by? I read that there is a finance fee of $15 and an apr for 14 day $100 loan of 390% for the State of Florida. Rollovers are not permitted. Thanks again for giving hope, help and hap

Do I need to do a wage assignement revocation for each pdl and submit one to HR for each pdl?

East Side Lenders $300 (paid $150)
Lakota Cash Loan $300 (paid $650)
GateWay Holdings Group LLC Loan $200 (paid $90)
DJR Group LLC Loan $300 (paid 90)
247 Green Street Loan of $400 (they are scheduled to withdraw funds on 4.22.11 as they do not do rollovers but I am assuming I need to contact them and they are the ones that did a wage assignment on their website... Please advise.
