I have never heard from Midland Funding but received a letter from an attorney that wanted to represent me because I was going to be served with a summons and I looked the case up and sure enough but I haven't a clue who they are or what this is all about. What should I do?

Was there actually a case on your civil court website? I would be wary of trusting an attorney who solicits via the mail, especially on a case you had no knowledge of. Sounds like if this is a real case, you could file a motion to have the case continued due to the fact that you were never properly informed per the FDCPA.
