Call From International Arbitration Services, 713-242-1600/866-531-6617
Date: Wed, 04/13/2011 - 06:54
I rec'd a call yesterday about a possible debt that the caller id showed 713-242-1600. The message was from a person stating that i was a 'primary person of interest' in a matter and that to speak to a processor to press 9. the message stated that if i wanted to 'voluntarily' take care of this matter that i should call 866-531-6617 with the provided case#. he stated that he represent a company called International Arbitration Services.
I have researched online by googling these numbers and got back information on a variety of items, but i do not know what to think, because of the differences of information. Can someone offer some advice, please?

Send them a debt validation letter when they call you the next time and ask them to validate the required debt providing you with all the information in writing. If they can't validate the debt, forget about them. You won't have to pay a penny to them. Rather you may send them a cease and desist letter asking to stop all future contacts.
Sick and Tired of Them
I have for over the last 6 years, received calls from these guys calling to collect a debt from a deceased person. Yes, they have changed their name several times, they have changed their number several times, and have even now started calling from a line they bought so you think they are local. Because the FCC has come after them, they have had no choice but to do this, yet each time, they just create yet another fake name and number and keep on scamming. I talked to them once telling them that the individual they are looking for is deceased, yet twice a week they leave their ridelicious message, using a bunch of legal terms. For those of us who work in law, we know this is just their technique to scare and threaten the person they are calling. The things they say in their recorded message and the legal terms they use are totally inappropriate for collecting a debt. I for one am not scared and know that they are an illegal company.
My advice to you, if you get a call from Mark Whitfield or any other name, like Saundra Law, etc, from International Arbitrators is just ignore the call and let them do their thing. They are scammers. They have bought a bad/uncollectable debts and are hoping to collect on them. If they harrase you and bother you (which they will continue to do for years), they hope you will get tired of them and eventually call them and send them money. DO NOT SEND THEM A DIME OR ANY OTHER FORM OF PAYMENT. Instead, file a complaint with the FCC. Eventually, they will catch up with these people and they will change their name again and then continue to call you.
You are better off the change your phone number, as I just did today. I have listened to their message long enough and frankly, it's getting old and I'm tired of them. Why don't I sue them? Because they are scammers and they have nothing of value to go after, thus not worth wasting my time and a judges time in court.
