2 PDL's and a Closed Checking account

So I've been reading these forums for the past couple weeks, or more so ever since I got myself stuck in an online PDL. I had lost my job back in January, and was at a moment where I refused to ask my family members to help being as they do too much for me already. After looking for regular "installment" loans that I could pay off in a matter of months, as opposed to a couple of weeks, I came across my first PDL.
Starcashprocessing
I had put in a few applications online, and while most lead to no where, when I checked my bank account the following morning I noticed that I had a 200 dollar amount deposited into my account, but I don't recall ever signing a contract for them at all. First it didn't bother me because I figured I could pay it off easily, but what started out as just 200 dollars, became 60 dollars being debited from my account every two weeks.
Still without money, I went and applied for another PDL and ended up with, SpotonLoans, who offered to loan me 300 dollars and immediately deposited the money into my account the following day.
Being as I still was without a job, my account continued to be debited for a month straight, with debit amounts of $60, $50, and $30 from Starcashprocessing and $100 from SpotonLoans which ultimately, with all the returned payment fee's of $33 from US BANK, my account was closed on April 8th, 2011 with a balance of about $1,200.
Since then, I've received three emails, two from Spot and one from Starcashprocessing about both accounts being in collections, and if I did my research correctly, neither are legal within the state of Kentucky.
I honestly have no idea what to do anymore, and if this is going to effect my credit, being as my closed account is already in Chexsystems now probably, and I've informed my boyfriend of all this but I honestly don't want him paying for something that I stupidly did.
Is there any help?

You have mentioned that both the payday lenders are illegal in your state. If you've paid off the principal balance to them, then you're not liable to pay them anything else. They are trying to scare you into paying them by telling you that the account is in collections. They cannot take any legal actions against you as they are illegal in your state. You can send them this information in writing and if you've over-paid them, then you may even ask for a refund of that amount.

Alright seems simple enough, as for the checking account, I know I read somewhere that once it's closed, I can't reopen it, but do you think if I were to speak to the manager of the bank, or someone for the bank, it might reduce the fee's since the unauthorized debit was placed into my account?
And would what starcashprocessing has done be legal, being as I never actually e-signed a contract? With Spotonloans I did sign one, but I never signed with starcashprocessing at all.
