I live in Chicago, IL and have several PDL installment loans. It became too much for me, as I could not pay my other obligations (electric, gas, insurance, etc) and on April 1 cancelled my checking acct so that they cannot get anymore money from me.
Check N Go: Installment Loan borrowed $1,061 paid $179.80 every 2 weeks (started in November) loan ending in July
CashNetUsa: Installment Loan borrowed $750 paid $127.30 every 2 weeks started in February
MyNextPayDay (Illegal in Illinois when I called the state, they said since they are not legal, I would have to borrow at my own risk) $590 payday loan paid $190
Americash Loans: Took 750 check book loan with them in August, defaulted, now they are saying I owe $2,100. They said in order to make a payment arrangement that I would need to come up with $1,271
PLS: $800 and $200 borrowed. Installmetn Loan
PLS will not work a payment arrangment with me, I called and spoke to them, they call my coworkers and family and it is annoying
Any suggestions would be helpful when dealing with them. I called MMI and they said that these companies will not work with MMI but they will help me talk to them.
My other bills were more important than paying these, and I have been
I filed bankruptcy last year and was discharged I don't need this on my credit reports? (can they put this on my credit report?)
Please help
Thank You

First, and I am not trying to be rude or mean, but you MUST change your lifestyle! You filed BK last year and then it looks like you immediately got back into borrowing money. You need to take a huge step back and cut any and all unnecessary expenses since you have no recourse to fall back on. Next, you must increase your income by getting a second, part-time job. Most of the lenders that you have listed are legal and therefore, do have recourse thru the courts to collect. You want to avoid this if possible.
Do not call the local brach, but instead call the Corp Office to discuss your options. Explain to them that you want to pay, but need to be able to work something out that is managable. You must be upfront and honest, while not getting offended or defensive.
The last thing that you need to worry about is these going on your credit. It was shot when you filed BK last year.
Good luck and remember that you must make changes to your lifestyle or you will never get out of this mess! It will not be easy or fun, but it is doable.

These most likely will end up on your credit report, and can be worse than bankruptcy in many ways. Once you finish bankruptcy, it is gone after 7 years (I think). Any other debt they will continue to sell from one collection agency to another before the 7 years is up. Every time they do this, they start the timer over basically. I know there have been some efforts to change that, but it still happens. Once it's on there, it's hard as hell to get rid of without paying it off...and even then it's stays as a late debt for at least 7 more years. Read up on the FDCPA and state laws, see if there is a way you can use those to help you in reaching an agreement. Best of luck

The advice PDLOwner gave you is good advice. Call the corporate offices and try to work out a payment arrangement you can afford. MyNextPayday is illegal. Stop paying them and send the illegal lender letter after you secure your account. If you still owe money to them, demand a mailing address. If you've already paid at least the principal amount borrowed, you owe them nothing else.
If the legal lenders refuse to work out an arrangement with you, just explain that you'll have to default and set up a repayment plan with collections.
Also, if they are calling and harrassing you and/or your family/
Also, if they are calling and harrassing you and/or your family/co-workers send them a certified letter stating NOT to contact your work or references and theat you will only deal with them through the US Postal Service. If they discussed ANY portion of your debt with family or co-workers even saying that you owe money, you are in trouble, anything like that they are in direct violation of the FDCPA. In your letter, state that you are reporting them to your state Attorney General's offfice, the FTC and the BBB and file the complaints. Also in your letter you can ask for a validation of any debts. They then have to provide you with the information (this can sometimes buy some time). If they continue to harass, you can do as I have done with one company, let them know complaints have been filed and that you will no longer make any contact with them until you hear back from your state Attorney General's office and anything further contact will be considered further harassment and more complaints and possible litagation will be filed.

90% of us on this board have been there. We don't judge, we just try to present the facts and some of us (including me) aren't always gentle about it. It sucks, but just know there is an end in sight and you will get out of this mess. Please let us know how things are going.
