I received a text message yesterday that stated the following, my name. It is very URGENT for you to call National Attorney Service regarding a sensitive matter. The number listed is 877-224-5572 with a case #.

Has anyone ever delt with them? Are they a legit company? I have not received any calls or letters from them. I never heard of a company sending text messages. Any advice? Thanks.

a quick search of the number shows alot of complaints and posts similar to yours.they are not attorneys.they are a dirty bottomfeeder that poses as attorneys to scare money out of people.call back, but state that you will not talk to them again without something in writing.hang up then when they call back file a police report as they broke the law in stating there was a case when there wasn't.the n ignore them again a rotten bottomfeeder that needs to break the law and scare money out of people.

I got one of those today also, from what I am hearing they are a debt collection company, for a payday loan like check smart, etc. If I was you and you have an outstanding loan pay the payday loan company direct in installments, if they are harassing calling your job, your reference you left on the loan application you can file a complaint with the FTC and you will not here from them again, also there is a number 888.667.5718 for harassing phone calls from people like this.

Hope this help you

do not contact them the are a collection comp. that will tell you a bunch of lies to bully you into paying you should contact and make arrangements to pay whatever company you owe money to and if they call you phone tell them to stop or you will file charges fo harassment my mom told me to do that and to call the attorney general and let them know what the company had told me so that they may handle it further of course i didn't listen and payed them them the money cuz they scared that crap out of me telling me they could take me to court for fraud and all kinds of things but when it was all over and seeing that they are not attorneys and they were breaking so many laws saying what they did i wish i had listend to her.

same thing, however, it's not my name... at least now i know who owned my phone before me. lol

"[name removed] URGENT to call National Attorney Service on a sensitive matter Llame por un asunto muy delicado al 1-866-236-7606 Ext 279 Case# [removed]"

...however, the phone number that texted me was 1-213-245-4774. one would think that *IF* they were legit, they would be calling from the same number they want you to call to. lol

...and *IF* they were legit *AND* actually attorneys, they'd know that "urgent to call" is bad English, and wouldn't have used it.

I do not have any loans but keep getting calls from this number with the same message... I learned today that a so called friend of mine actually took out a payday loan and listed me as "reference" and that is why they are calling me, because they cannot get in touch with her.

as consumers we are entitled to inform any collection agencies to stop contacting you by phone or text. You can inform them that they can contact you by mail only. They have to honor that. If they don't you can make complaints. My mom received a very similar text today. I called them back after blocking my number, gave them the "case number" and instructed them as above. They said "ok"

you're right. It must be done in writing but I did not state that. So if you know so much why didn't you post that to help those being harassed? So make yourself useful and share your knowledge.

Oh, I beg your pardon.

I was busy answering the huge number of PMs asking for help that I get daily, hundreds of posts here and in the Answers forum, researching various state's laws regarding payday loans, correcting incorrect information posted by unregistered posters like you, deleting vulgar posts left by collectors and/or payday loan employees, moderating the board, deleting SPAM...during minor lulls while doing my real job.

Sorry if I didn't "help" enough for you.

your little ramble doesn't take away from the fact that your info is not correct.there is no partial C&D.why don't you register instead of posting wrong info and help as well?in the meantime get off the soapbox.

I finally had decided to call the 951-729-0780 nuber, but you cannot leave messages, because the box is full!! Then i had called the 855-525-1400 number x 275. The person spoke Spanish to me and I tried to explain to her that she has sent to me text messages for at least a year regarding Moreno, Ana Maria file, and that she has the wrong number. Very rude she hung up saying something that I did not understand like she was running from something!!! I called again and again and had the same problem. They don't stop sending te3xt messages!!! and, they don't even listen to you!! Can anyone do something about these kind of practices?? After all they call themselves "National Attorney Services." Where is their professionalism? And legal practices? Working in a legal field, there are standards of legal practices! If they are not legal, then who will take care of this issues and make it legal. It is very negative for the legal practice!

We have been getting calls from this organization claiming a person had used us as a reference. They've continued to call even after we've told them we have not had contact in years with this person and would definitely not be relaying messages to them.

They are a collection agency.  I dont believe they are legit attorneys.  I filed a Chapter 13 and have already started payments to the courts.  I am still getting calls from them and they wont tell me which creditor they allegedly represent.  After the second or third time they called, the guy, David Michaels, started argueing with me on the phone trying to say he didnt call.  His name and extension came up!  I CAN read you know.  BEWARE AND BE LEARY!!

Who ever heard of sending a text for a supposed debt?! These people are not attorneys but rather a debt collector using the scare tactics to force you to pay...even without validating any debt!!! What ever happened to sending information over the mail!!! In any event, you can check out the many complaints they have with the BBB and under no circumstance should you give them any payment without proof of the debt and without written documentation!!!
