what to do?

I have recently been receiving calls and today a letter arrived from a company called Stephens and Michaels Associates who are working on behalf of Pinnacle Credit Services. They are claiming I owe close to $700 for a Verizon Wireless account that was active from 4/03 to 1/04. I have no memory of this debt, Verizon Wireless doesn't have a record of the account number, and there is nothing about any of this on any of my credit reports. Calls to Pinnacle have been unanswered and unreturned. Any suggestions about what to put into the letter for validation that I am writing?
SImply dispute the validity of the debt....you have no knowledge
SImply dispute the validity of the debt....you have no knowledge of the debt and they need to prove to you that you do owe it with as signed copy of your contract. Send certified mail return receipt requested. They know the laws....keep your demand short and simple.
