can i be arrested for default on multiple pd loans it just got out of control

If you took these out in a storefront location in TX, and used a check to get the loan then they can file criminal charges, but it is very rare because they would have to prove that you wrote the check with the intention on defrauding the company. If it just got to be too much, then they have only civil recourse. If it was internet loans, or if no check was used then they cannot pursue criminal charges at all.

Well a PDL has to be licensed, a CSO can set up PDLs and charge more than the state laws regarding PDLs, and only have to be registered with the state and fall under no state regulations. And as far as the internet loans go, and Texas licenses, CSO registrations etc there are more holes in that than a block of swiss cheese. Most will not, because they are not going to chance it and incur the extra expenses, but than do have at least somewhat of a legal leg to stand on to pursue the debt through the courts. Now there are equally valid precedents that one could use to argue it, and a very good chance to win. So the whole "legal" issue at least in Texas is a huge grey area.
