Hi, i had a payday loan from Advance America from 2007. and they are calling me and telling me that i have 2 hours to pay them back or a warrent is going out for me. is this true? i need some help on this.

You haven't mentioned the state you live in. You need to check out whether or not the payday lending is legal in your state or the payday lender is licensed to operate in your state. If they are illegal, then they cannot take any legal actions against you. They are just trying to scare you so that you make the payments. In such a situation, you can simply pay them the principal amount and get rid of it. You won't be liable for paying off any fees or other finance charges.

First, Advance America will be legal in any state that they offer loans in. That is the easy part! The tough part is who is collecting on the debt and how did they get it? It sounds as though you are dealing with a CA that has bought the debt. My guess is that it has been sold atleast 2-3 times based on the age and the tactics. A licensed CA will only threaten legal action if they plan on suing you in civill court. If they threatend to have you thrown in jail, then call thier bluff. It will not and cannot happen.

Please post the name of the CA for verification against comments on here.
