Mynextpaycheck - $400, paid $240
Paydaymax - $280, paid $327
Discount Advances - $550, paid $450
United Cash Loans - $650, paid $390
So far, Discount Advances is the only one that's in default, but that will change in 2 weeks. Credit Protection Depot sent me an email, and I called asking for an extended payment plan. He asked for $124 for the next 5 paychecks! I can't even do that right now. I have opened another checking account though thankfully, but I can't close my current one because I'm in a negative status. Harris Bank isn't helpful at all, they say I can't block anything. I just got an email today from CPD saying they are deducting $621 for the Discount Advance loan, ridiculous! I did find the Revocation letter on this site. But my questions are -
Should I also send the revocation letter to the payday loans that haven't bounced yet? Or should I try to work out a payment arrangement? I just know they're going to try and include the illegal charges. I know my state states that they have to. Or should I wait until they don't go through? I'm guessing since I can't close my acccount, my bank will close it for me. I can't beleive I got into this mess!
Also, I'm not sure how to figure out exactly how much I owe them, if anything. I know that I need to state that in the revocation letter that's on this site. Please help, I really appreciate any advice you have for me. Thank you!!
I would send the revocation letter to any and all PDL companies
I would send the revocation letter to any and all PDL companies regardless, as most of them require that they receive the letter 5 days before the ACH withdrawal will be placed(and they will do it. Repeatedly). I would also take in a copy(ies) of the revocation letter and give it to the branch manager of your bank. I would also recommend placing a temporary/permanent ACH withdrawal freeze on your bank account immediately(this might cost you a fee of $25 or so) and make it deposit only(meaning no company whatsoever can take an automatic payment from your bank account-the only way money can be withdrawn is by you directly at the bank, or through personal debit card).
I have been dealing with Checksmart in Ohio for a $600 loan(which has turned into a $750 payback....). They automatically withdrew $190 from my bank account, which of course caused me to fly off the handle and call the supervisor at the corporate office and tell him to go die in a car crash(I hoped they recorded that conversation lol). I didn't realize that you could revoke their ACH authorization(until I read the contract, and also found this wonderful website), but I have taken care of that summarily by sending them a revocation letter along with a cease/desist phone contact letter, filed a complaint with the FTC and the Ohio Attorney General, and changed my bank account information. Don't take any guff from any of these companies, and read the FDCPA information. Also, check your contract carefully, there might also be other hidden loopholes that you or they could use for/against.
Also check if they are a CFSA member. If they break any FDCPA(Federal Debt Collection Practices Act btw), file a complaint with them as well.
Don't worry if they threaten to put you in jail, because they cannot. Don't worry about paying them back as quickly as possible, because it will take them nearly a year(in most cases) to take you to civil court(This happened to me on a previous pdl, and I had them paid off pretty much before it went to court).

Thank you so much for your advice! I believe that the payday loans I have aren't licensed in my state of IL. It looks like IL requires them to be licensed so I don't think they can bring a civil suit. I think that they will try to put through other debits besides the ACH, like paper checks. I just wish I was in the position to close the account, but I will take your advise and go to my branch manager and ask for some kind of freeze or 'deposit only' status to be put on my account. I'll also send the revocation letters and if I need to, the cease and desist.
I'm just not sure how much I actually owe them, if at all. Also, it looks like they are hard to find to mail these letters to. I'm afraid to fax them, because I only have a fax at work. They may send things back through that. I'll try mailing them with the addresses I see on this site, but if someone can advise me as to how to figure out how much I should settle with them, I would appreciate. Thank you very much for your help, I appreciate it!

well being that every single loan you have is not only illegal in IL,but illegal in every state.please answer the following.
1)how much was borrowed from each
2)how much was debited by each so far
you see being these loans are illegal you only owe the principle, and anything in "fees"is illegal and gets deducted from line 1.in fact subtract line 2 from line 1.that is how nuch if anything you do owe.btw CPD is a lawbreaking bottomfeeder.be prepared to file AG complaints against all lenders, and the humanoids like CPD that try to collect on them.last thing go to the sticky titled DEALING WITH ILLEGAL LENDERS at the top of this very forum.it will give you all you need to get these places out of your life and by paying what you truly owe,not what scum like CPD say you do.
in fact here is what you owe these places. 1)mynextpaycheck 16
in fact here is what you owe these places.
1)mynextpaycheck 160.00
2)paydaymax owes you 47.00
3)discount 100.00
4)united cash 260.00
again they are not legal, and this is what you really owe each place.go to the sticky and follow every step.don't skip steps and you should be fine.keep us posted.
Thanks so much for your help, I'll do that. Just one more questi
Thanks so much for your help, I'll do that. Just one more question please - should I send the letters to both the payday lender and CPD?
You can send letters to both the payday lender and the CPD.
You can send letters to both the payday lender and the CPD.
#7 should have said you should send the letter to both the lende
#7 should have said you should send the letter to both the lender and CPD,and you should get them out asap.btw who sold/assigned their loan to CPD?
CPD contacted me for Discount Advances. It looks like Discount A
CPD contacted me for Discount Advances. It looks like Discount Advances and Payday Max are connected, so I'm sure in a few weeks when the others don't get their money I'll be hearing from CPD for them also. I think Payday Max is connected to Discount Advances. I think I've read that here. Thank you. It's wonderful that everyone here is so helpful and supportive, it makes going through this mess a lot easier.
