Someone kept calling me about an outstanding bill from 713-33-7165 , yelling at me that he is not a collector but an attorney and that legal action will be taken against me
Tell him to send you a letter regarding the debt, as required by
Tell him to send you a letter regarding the debt, as required by law, withing 5 days. Don't sweat any of the legal threats. You have the right to know exactly what this person is collecting and for what. You also have the right to ask for validation. If you don't know what this guy is collecting on, then try to get the company name at least and an address and send a debt validation letter.....but wait and see if he sends you a letter first.
