I took out a payday loan online April of last year with CashNet. It was sold to Recovery Processing Systems with a balance of 814.33. I am currently out of work and cannot pay this. They said they are going to send a letter of intent to take me court for a fradulent check. They called my mother and my brother and left this message on their phones. Can they really take me to jail? She said they would come to my door step. I am not trying to fraud anyone - I just do not have the means. Any advice?

Did you really send any check to them? It seems to be a scare tactic to collect money from you. By the way what state are you in? Is CashNet legal in your state? Check that. If pdls are legal in your state and you have defaulted on the loan, then the collection agency can take legal steps against you.

no nelly even if pdl's are legal the lender still might not be so your question on cashnet's legality was correct,in fact OP was this just cashnet,or cashnetusa?you see cashnetusa is legal and operates as a CSO,but there us a cashnet aka paydayloanyes that is not legal anywhere.please clarify,but the fact that this place called and gave illegal third party disclosure says bottomfeeder to me that can't,and won't do anything.

well let me address each question

1.if the lady said just casnet,and not cashnetusa it is not a legal lender
2.AG=attorney general
3.yes by googling all that came up with the name,or number was more posts like yours so bottomfeeder.

hope that cleared things up for you,and you will proceed with complaints,and reports against them.
