Well, you can hang up the phone every time they call you.

you can send them an official letter and if they're a third party collector they will most probably stop calling, but if they are the original creditor there's not much you can due. Also try reporting them on sites like http://callercenter.com to bring more heat and attention to their phone number.

Sorry, but the callercenter site is for telemarkers.....it does not apply to crediters or collection agencies.

Make it even easier. Don't answer the calls. People on this forum consistently suggest speaking to them no more than once a month. Don't feel obligated to speak to them every single time they call. It's an intimidation exercise at its worse.

you dont talk to them they keep calling multiple times in a day. Send the cease and desist.

What state do you live in? You can review state laws pertaining collection calls to make sure they're following it.

How would a Cease and Desist letter put a stop to the calls? Wouldn't it depend on the state you live in? How would I direct my letter to the right address knowing that these banks are large, have several addresses and mine may never reach them?

I would suggest you write a complaint to the BBB in your state and your attorney general. They can't take you to court and points like that look bad on their record.
