You can offer a settlement to the collection agencies. Sometime
You can offer a settlement to the collection agencies. Sometimes their settlements are better. Just make sure the collection agency actually has the account by either calling your credit card company (they will tell you) or sending a debt validation letter. I was able to settle both my Bank of America cards with the collection agencies for 30-35%. Good luck.
Thank you
When I am ready to settle I fully intend on calling the companies to find out where my bills are. I suspect no one actually owns them because their chances of collecting would be slim to non except I fully intend on paying them when I sell a house I have on the market. They don't know that of course. Well the CC companies know because I told them time and time again but it was like talking to myself. They don't care what you have to say, they just want their money and the thing is I want to pay them. I worked 45 years to get the best credit a person can have and due to circumstances beyond my control, it's been ruined in a matter of months. Makes me sick.
Yes, you can still offer a settlement to the credit card company
Yes, you can still offer a settlement to the credit card company. If you want, you can also negotiate with the collection agencies. Debt settlement with your creditors may reduce your outstanding debt by 40-60%. But, it will depend upon the credit card company to accept or reject the request.
