I received a letter sent to my bank and me stating a settlement was over.Then i receive another one for addition money.the addition money was brought to my attention during the phone call but not on the letter.What should i do

Who sent you the letter? Who made the phone call? Is it a collection agency? Don't pay any money now. If a collection agency has called you, then find out their address. After that send a written notice to them to validate the debt. If a debt validation letter is not sent to you, then send a Cease and Desist letter via certified mail with a return receipt requested.
