Collection Agency Joe Pezzuto

My girlfriend and I started a business in Dec. 2008 and the bottom fell out before we even got started. We had to close in May of 2009. My friend was the guarantor on a L of C from Bk of A and we tried to pay off the debt for about a year but the interest rate was so high we couldn't continue. I am on unemployment and she is on Social Security and her retirement. We tried to settle but couldn't afford the settlement amount. Then Bk of A transferred it to these Cach LLC people that were very rude and wouldn't be reasonable about the settlement amount and wouldn't let us make payments. Now this Joe Pezzuto is calling and from what I've read on the internet, we really don't want to deal with them and my friend is scared to death. What should we do. We haven't talked with them yet.
