These people started calling me February of this year. They never sent anything in the mail. Finally I called and got an account # from them then I sent them a letter requesting validation of the debt. I mailed the letter on March 09, 2011. I got the green card back that shows they received the letter on March14, 2011. They stopped all communication with me. Then today out of the blue I get a letter from them. Its obviously way past the 30 days so I am curious what to do next. I am not even sure if this is proper validation or not???? The letter states that WE HAVE REQUESTED THE DOCUMENTATION YOU HAVE ASKED FOR FROM THE ABOVE REFERENCED CLIENT; ENCLOSED IS THE ASSOCIATED DOCUMENTATION FROM OUR CLIENT FOR YOUR ACCOUNT.

The print is so small its hard to even read what they sent. At the top of the page it says Retail Installment Contract-Motor Vehicle-Simple Interest. I can see my husbands signature on this in a couple spots and the name of the creditor. My question is Is this proper debt validation????

well since once you dispute there is no deadline for validation

well since once you dispute there is no deadline for validation except in TX then they have 30 days to validate,but if you can confirm that is your husband's signature then yes that is validation.

Ok so does this mean that the CA owns the debt? What they have sent is a copy of the original agreement that my husband signed. We live in Illinois. I just want to make sure that they are legally entitled to collect on this debt. Thanks in advance!

well it could be either way,but since they did obtain the contra

well it could be either way,but since they did obtain the contract they are entitled to collect.i would contact them,and see what you can work out as far as paying this.when i say either way i meant they could have bought it,or been assigned it.
