Hi..I took out a $300 loan with these crooks and made one $90 (interest only) payment to them. I then closed the checking account that I was using to let them withdrawl from because I was going to pay them off with a loan disbursment check from my credit union. When I called to find out their physical address they said that "they could not give me that information, so everything had to be done electronicaly, and I would need to give them a credit card number or a new bank account number". I was NOT going to give them ANY info so I have not made a payment since then. Well, now I am getting horrific collection calls, threatening to come to my job and serve me papers..calls to my mother-in-law, calls to my dad, and just today 5 calls in a row at work. I think they are the same company that has Ameri-Loan, Us Fast Cash and several others. What should my next step be from this point? Besides me wanting to choke the woman through the phone??? Thank you for any guidance..

From what I've read I think your loan is illegal. You can check the laws of your state here http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com...pdls-laws.html

If it is send them the illegal payday lender letter. Tell them you'll send them a money order for the remaining principal balance $210 or get a pre-paid card.

So, yesterday these people called again and finally identified themselves as Capital Collections. From what I have read about them on here they are awful and some of the same scenarios that have happened to people on here were the same that I went through. I want to send them the illegal payday lender letter but I do not know where to send it to. When I Googled the phone number, 888-226-6385, it came up as Allcom Communications in California..so I don't know..
