Is Ameriloan and One Click Cash legal in Texas? If not, then do I understand correctly that I only owe them the original amount that was borrowed? If this amount has already been paid through interest charges and fees, then I do not owe them anymore? Exactly how do I go about notifying them of this? Can this be done without closing my checking account?

Payday loans are legal in Texas. But Ameriloan is not legal anywhere. One click cash is not also legal in Texas. In such a situation, you are only obligated to pay the principal amount. You are not accountable to pay the interest rates or fees. If you have already paid off the principal amount, then you are not required to pay anything more. It isn't necessary to close your checking account. You can send them a letter notifying them that you have already paid off the original amount. As they are illegal, so you won't make any further payments.

sorry to refute nelly, but since both are MTE,and totally illegal once they receive the letter if the account isn't closed they will bleed it dry.they think because they are a "tribal entity"the law doesn't apply to them.at least see your branch manager and set up a new account not linked to the old one.they can help with DD as well.make sure they can't access your account when you send the letters.
