my credit card company sold my debt to arrow financial who has filed a suit and i have 20 days to respond. is it ever worth going to court or should i just call the atty on the suit. it never does any good and is just a waste to fight a traffic ticket and am wondering if it is the same. i am now disabled and lost my job in 2010. i have over 10K as well in past due medical bills and cannot afford any payments of any kind as i have no insurance and pay for prescriptions out of pocket as well as gp doctor visits

Hi!
Welcome to the forums!

You have to give a reply to the summons first. You have to defend yourself against the allegations made against you in the summons. Give the reply within 20 days. You'll have to attend the court hearing also. Otherwise, the case will go against you. By the way, are you on disability benefits? If you don't want to get into legal hassles, then try to negotiate a settlement out of court.

With unpaid traffic tickets, you coiuld end up with a warrent for your arrest. You have to respond and should show up in court.

As for your medical, have you tried applying for disability or medicaid thru social services? Drug companies also offer cheap or free drugs for those in financial distress.

At first, you should give a reply to the court summons. Otherwise, the court may issue a judgment order against you. If you want to resolve this issue without any legal hassles, then you can negotiate with your creditors out of court. If the creditors agree with your proposal, then work out a better repayment plan to payoff the debt. The following link may help you in this regard:
