My employee have a received a letter of voluntary declaration wage assignemt from Northway Financial Corporation Ltd (Sonic payday). I live in Tallahassee, Florida and work with the Leon County Tax Collector office. Do the payroll office has to honor that letter or do they need a letter of garnishment from the Florida court system to take the money our of my paycheck.

let your HR/PAYROLL person know that this is an illegal lender and want to revoke the wage assignment.because that is what this is as to garnish they would need a court order,and being as the lender isn't located in the US getting a court order would prove very difficult.let them know this a wage assignment,not a garnishment,and you want to revoke it.then draft a simple letter revoking the assignment.that should work.if not your employer can be sued for honoring it.
