Wage Assignment is voluntary. You may have agreed to it when you signed for the loan. It can be revoked at ANY time. Send a copy to the company and to your HR department.
Wage Garnishment is the result of legal action against you in a court. You would have to be properly served and a judgement ruled against you for this to happen.
Make sure you know which one you're dealing with and then respond.
you should have the opportunity to revoke this
you should have been given a copy of the assignment before your employer.let them know that this is an illegal creditor and you want to revoke it.btw if it is e-signed you must have the opportunity to revoke it.your employer can be sued by you for allowing it without you having this opportunity.

Its a Wage Assignment for sure.
Is 247 Green Street Illegal in IL
they are illegal as all get
being in IL myself i can say that 247 greenstreet is illegal in IL.btw if the assignment is e-signed your employer should only ask if the assignment is legit.i know of alot of companies in IL that won't even acknowledge an e-signed assignment like that.

My employer notified me today because I didnt pay them in full they have to pull to total amount due from my paycheck tomarrow. 500.00.
They got the notice on 6/7 and I advsied them on 6/9 I was getting in contact with 247 green street to rectify the situation. They say becasue I didnt pay them in full they had to send it to them. Ive seen what they sent I could have typed it up on my work comupter and faxed it to them.
Im really confused on how my company could not allow me time to get the revoke letter sent with proof of delivery to be given to them. Not to mention how they would allow the illegel PDL to send a notice without varification
look into legal action because.
the legal limit your employer can get is 15% of your net pay after all deductions.meaning unless you make 7,500.00 they cannot take that much.the fact they never gave you a chance to revoke this is ilegal and you can sue your employer for allowing this.btw unless you owe 500.00 247 greenstreet isn't entitled to 500.00.show your employer all info regarding this..again they are wrong,and unless you make 7,500.00 they can't take 500.00 without letting you revoke the assignment.also unless you owe the illegal 500.00 you don't owe 500.00.i'm sure you can find a good contingency lawyer to sue the birdbrain idiots you call your employer.

Sorry Im slightly confused at your response.
Can you clarify as Im having a really bad day
the max they can whith hold is 15% regardless of it being legit? or my employer can withhold the 500.00 becasue it is?
also regardless of it being a legit debit to the company it was illegal for my company to not allow me to revoke the authorization is that correct?
let me clarify
let me clarify this
1)any granishment can only get 15% of your net pay after all other deductions.
2)you must be sent a copy of the assignment first.to be givin a chance to either revoke,or present a defense.the fact that the loan was illegal and you don't owe 500.00 is your defense.
3)the loan was illegal therefore unless you borrowed 500.00 and paid nothing.you don't owe 500.00
do this.if you have a legal dept,or lawyer on staff consult them.bring any bank statements you have as proof,but let them know that this travesty will be met with legal action of your own if it is not stopped.

Thanks for the clarification. They took the whole 500. now I cant pay my rent and Im totally screwed.
This is how I got intothe mess in the first place and my employer now isnt following the letter of the law either and Ive been threatened with termination becasue of it.
I guess I need to find a lawyer and a new job. In this economy its going to be impossiable
Thats BS
There has to be something you can do with your employer about this, Im afraid to get into that mess with my employer... Not sure if they would handle it the same way or not, but there is always a chance...
I wish you the best of luck, Ive had to deal with late rent because of these scum suckers too, and I rent a house from someone I work with... looks even worse...
Making up excuses to tell your landlord is the worst, things will get better for sure, like I said, wish you luck with all this mess.
My post really doesn't help, but supports (I hope)
