Fox Enterprises Sent me to a Law Firm for Collections

I hit a massively tough period in my life this past fall having to take care of both my parents and made some really stupid decisions, hence the loan I pulled with Fox Enterprises.

I received a letter today from a "Borland Law Firm LLC" in Marietta, GA. They seem to be legit and they have been assigned my "case".

Has anyone been sent off to a law firm by Fox, or any other online payday loan company?

A lawyer friend of mine suggested that I pay off what I can of my credit cards first, and then concentrate on the online payday loans last...I emailed "Tom" from Fox explaining my situation but couldn't get a reply, till now. My lawyer friend also thinks the loan may be "illegal" but as I haven't been able to retain a lawyer I am not so sure.

Thoughts?


I guess you are based at Georgia. Payday loans are prohibited in the state of Georgia. In such a situation, you'll be liable for paying off only the principal balance to them. You should contact your original payday lender and ask them to withdraw the account from the law firm. You should pay them off the principal balance and get rid of the debts.

Payday lending is legal in Michigan. Nevertheless, I will suggest you to contact the Michigan Office of Financial and Insurance Services and check out if the payday lender is licensed to operate in your state. If it is not licensed, then you'll be liable for paying only the principal balance. being as FOX is illegal in MI(and just about everywhere else for that matter)you only owe the principle and anything debited prior to default gets deducted from that example:

you borrow 200.00 from fox.they debit 60.00 three times.you only owe 20.00 to fox.btw use the address to send this law firm a DV letter send it certified mail return receipt.unless nothing was debited by fox.you don't owe the inflated amount this law firm is claiming.

Fox enterprise debted my account double the amount i owed now there sending me to colletions ive paid in full and more
