I received a phone call from IAG stating that i had an outstanding pay day loan in the amount of $1688 and they are willing to settle for $510. I was in a rough spot and quite possibly taken this loan, i did take a few and dont remember. How do i know if the original pay day loan company is legal. I want to pay my debts, but i do not have the money to just throw away. The representative from IAG said that they sent a certified letter but no one signed for it (because i never got it) and that they were going to schedule a time for me to appear in court. I am not sure what to do at this point. I also have a loan out with Ameriloan, which was an online copmany. The origianl loan was for $400 with finance fees $520. How do i know if i am legally binded to these and if they are legal in the state of michigan?

I have a loan out with Ameriloan, Ive been informed they are illegal in MI... ...Theres stickys on how to deal with the illegal lenders on the top of the PDL help forums...

.Im starting to understand alot of what needs to be done in order to get out of this PDL mess. hope that helps...

MI is confusing to me, the loan places have told me they dont need to follow our state laws only there state... ...but I guess they need to be licensed in MI... IDK.;)

let me comfirm that a pdl must have license in MI to lend to MI residents.every illegal idiot will lie to try and sway you on their supposed legality, but ameriloan is not legal in any state.now let's get to IAG.they are a scumbag ipdl JDB that buys peoples info from illegal lenders.never admit to,or think about paying without them sending at least a collection letter.in fact demand from IAG something in writing.they will get hostile and start threatening things they can't/won't do.when that happens hang up and file a police report.then use any info you have to file AG,AND FTC complaints.just know that you are entitled to details in writing, and should never let anybody bully, and threaten you over the phone.

When i was speaking with IAG, they were very rude. I told them i found it odd that i havent heard any thing about collecting this debt until now and that i wanted something in writing. He emailed me while i was on the phone with him. I am not sure what to do, i want to get this off my back. But i have read alot on this site and i dont want to pay more than i have to. How do i know if a payday loan company is legal in Michigan? As i have mentioned before i have Ameriloan and Gateway Holdings (according to IAG). Then i find out later in the day that they have sent a verification of employment to my employer. What is that all about?

well a couple of things.first the email doesn't count as they must send a letter via the USPS.they won't do that because they don't want their address out there.also they more than likely faxed the verification form.i hope your employer didn't fill this out as again they are under no obligation to do so.inform them this is a scam.because it is.i would file a police report asap as again IAG is scum to the extreme.then inform your employer that this is a complete scam.then do not engage them further.

if you borrow money should pay back what you borrowed.even alot of AG'S stress that.however the lender is not entitled to interest and anything they call fees gets deducted from that.so nobody here takes that stance and anybody worth their salt won't either.
