we live in iowa borrowed money from a payday company now lso keeps calling us are they legal in our state and can they legally do anything


Payday loans are considered legal as per the state laws of Iowa. However, in order to know whether or not your payday lender is licensed to operate in your state, you should contact the Iowa Division of Banking. If you find that they are not licensed to operate in your state, then you will be liable for paying off only the principal balance. But you won't be liable for paying any interest payments or other fees.
