Can Remaining Balance Be Sold

I recently settled an old Chase CC. I paid the CA about $3000 less than what they said I owed. In the settlement offer letter I was told that they would report the account as paid in full. I received a letter a few days ago from another CA it looks like they are trying to collect the remaining balance. What should my next course of action be.
You may send a copy of a document proving that you have settled
You may send a copy of a document proving that you have settled the debt. Check your credit report to find out whether or not the account status has been updated. If you don't have any document proving that you have settled the debt, then you will face problems.
