Short Answer
From what I have been able to find all are illegal. To double check go to website for the Florida Office of Financial regulation and go to verify a license. Check under money services business for all the names on the list. If they are not licensed file complaints with that office so that they know about these companies. They will work with you to get these companies off your back.

I looked them up on that website but found that there are many names with "Seaside" on them which are licensed corporations and with "Insight" too. How do I know if they are related or not?
BTW- thanks for the answer.

Seaside trust is not a licensed lender in FL. If you look at all the coporations that are listed under "Seaside" there are only 2 approved licenses that are both for Morgage lenders not Money transmitters. As for Insight, if they are INSIGHT CAPITAL, LLC or Easymoney then they are licensed. First thing though is make sure that the Insight that you are lending from is one of these companies which unless it was a store front I would almost be 100% confident that it is not and second even if they are licensed but are charging you roll over fees and interest that exceed FL law you can still report them to the Florida Office of Financial regulation for those violations.

After weeks for digging anf searching I found out that RKM is called Quick Cash Site and after I sent them the email informing them that they were not licensed to operate in Florida and they replied to me the following email, which I think is pretty snotty and rude....
Like I said before you gave up your rights in your state when you accepted our loan. Either way you owe us the money so take it how you want. It is in your best interests to get this matter resolved with us. We are going to get paid regardless, so you can settle it voluntarily or not! It???s up to you and how much your credit means to you. We have all the documentation for whatever you decide. I???m sure we wouldn???t be in business if you were right. Thanks

What should I do now? They sound pretty sure that they are in the right.

LOL....they are very funny! They can say exactly what they please but the bottom line is they are ILLEGAL. Let them know you will be forwarding a copy of their letter to your state AG's office and the FTC...maybe they would like to argue these points with the law makers??
Ignore their stupidity.

The Florida Consumer Financial Act makes all unlicensed loans non collectable. Period. No ifs, ands or buts. Section 516 I believe.

Listen to SOAPLADY and frogpach there is nothing that these guys can do to you in FL. One other place I would make a complaint with is the FL Office of Financial Regulation as they are the ones that will go after the lender for you. I have been dealing with a couple of lenders that are trying to tell me the same thing and so far one lender, Magnum Cash, tried to send me to collections at which point I filled a complaint against the collections people and after they got there nice letter in the mail from th OFR they sent the account back to the lender as illegal and uncollectable in FL.
Lending of pdl is considered legal in the state of Florida. You
Lending of pdl is considered legal in the state of Florida. You can get information from the Florida Office of Financial Regulation in order to know whether or not pdl companies are licensed to operate in your state. If you find that they are licensed, then you will be responsible for both the principal and interest. Otherwise, you are required to pay only the principal amount. If you have already paid more than the principal amount to the illegal lenders, then ask them for the refund. Illegal payday lenders can???t take any legal action against you. You can ask your bank manager to put a hard debit check on your bank account so that they can???t debit any money from your account in future. To know more about the state pdl laws, glance through the following link:

generic stupidity
once again sally posts this generic stupidity after everything has been established.like the legality of the loans.this would have been nice as the first response, but now?ridiculous.i am in lockstep with frogpatch and SOAPLADY and their advice as they live in FL and do know about these things.
I too live in FL
I had 8 PDL's and with the help of this website, and the Florida Office of Financial Regulation, all of them have gone away. I just received a letter today from FLOFR on the last one. Send your complaints to them as they will tell you if any of them are legal or not. As they say most internet PDL's are not. The letter also states that if a CA is trying to collect on an illegal debt this is uncollectable as well and do not let them scare you with their collection tactics. All you need to do is find the June press release from FLOFR and mail it to them with your debt validation letters or illegal lender letters. I assure that this will without a doubt work for you. Good Luck!
Thanks After several years in Florida and dealing with the PDLs
Thanks After several years in Florida and dealing with the PDLs myself during a tough time, I am back in New Jersey where all PDLs are illegal as pumping your own gas. LOL. It a Jersey joke. I now have to buy my beer in a liquor store instead of the 7 11 but the ocean is only 78 degrees and 93 is the high in August not October and pizza is sold by the slice and tomatos are the best in the world. Go Yankees, sorry Rays.
