Last night I received the same message from this coy (Brown Meyer & Assoc). I called back & the guy who talked to me sounds like an investigator. He begins with accusation that I have been writing bad checks from state to state, & that he has made a background check on me. Then I told him if that was the case, then why I was so bold to call him back, & that he doesn't even know me. He continues with bouncing check I wrote for a payday company in another state & asked me why I did that. You did lost yr job? tell me how it happens? I was embarrassed. He messed up my day. I responded that he should send me a letter then I can take care of it. He goes that he already sent many mails to me & I said I haven't seen any mail yet from them yet. He goes: "well, you need to pay what you owed, with some %age and legal fees for a lawyer. He asked for my email & said he will send all what I need to do through my email. I told him "if you could please do.." but I will prefer a letter. Then, he goes, "ok I will take you to court..." and then hang up on me. He really messed my day. What do you think? can somebody advise me what to do.

since the threats were illegal this loser needs to be reported to your local police asap.use the name of this bottomfeeder and any numbers you have to do this.then file AG,AND FTC complaints as well.so to recap bottomfeeding scam that needs to be reported not paid.do that and d not talk to the cretin further.he just wants to argue, harrass, and threaten.a waste of your time to engage him.

Bouncing checks is a criminal act to which you are legally presumed innocent. To make such accusations absent a criminal conviction is a serious and false or misleading representation under FDCPA 807, and an unfair debt collection practice under FDCPA 808. Each such act entitles you to civil damages of $1,000 pursuant to FDCPA 813.
