About a year ago I was miss lead into taking out several payday loans by a friend that was working with this person that said they owned a company & i will be able to make extra cash by signing up with a program. and the money going back into the business.

They had a legit (so i thought) business name, office, #, so i went through and signed up !! BIGGEST MISTAKE EVER ! about 2 months later of taking out 4 or 5 payday loans for this company under there name , my cousin told me that $20,000 was taken out of hers/her mothers bank account. My cousin also joined me a few weeks after i did. As soon as we got word of this the girl that we "worked" with disappeared ! and was no where to be found up until a few months ago, and now she is in JAIL!! My so called friend that introduced us moved to trinidad for 4 months and returned in Feb 2011. My cousin is dealing with her side of the story, but a few days ago i was given a call on behalf of The Cash Store, (oneo f the places i took a payday loan from ) from a lady that works at Lawyers of Paul Cooperstien saying that i have 1 day to pay $5,530. and if i didnt i will be sent a notice that i have been served.

I have gotten some advice but nothing that can help me, I just received a call this morning from the same lady that i am being sued by this company and someone will be coming to my residence to serve me with papers. !!!

I have no idea what too do , and i am very scared!!! I have a scholarship too leave to school in a few months, and i dont know what too do. !! i need help asap !!!

I know the person that lied to me is behind bars, is that any help ?? WHAT DO I DO ???

This situation is extremely confusing to me. Why would you take out PDLs for a friend of a friend? That is very fishy and you should have run!

You said the loans are under the business name and not yours. I think your best course of action is to contact an attorney asap. I think your situation is more extensive than most people here can assist with.

Please clarify if this is an installment loan or PDL and storefront or internet. The CashStore is a store front, but I was not aware that would lend that large of an amount.
