Need to know what I can do. The loan was for $2250, and they offered to setlle for $1700. I don't have $1700 cash but can I reply back with a payment arrangement outlining dates/amounts that I can pay them back? Like this:

$300 7/15
$300 7/31
$300 8/15
$300 8/31
$300 9/15
$200 9/30

What are my options and how should I reply? Adhering to above plan would be difficult but doable...and I would be getting the last "legal" lender off my back. The rest that I have are illegal (the ones still bothering me are LoanPointUSA and Cash Direct Express (actually Alliance Asset Managment has not contacted me since a week after I mailed Cease & Desist).

I just need to know what I can do...they are ready to settle, and I want to know what works. Can I negotiate settlement amount? They only wittled it down to 75% of original loan amount. I have already shelled out $20K in fees for only $10k worth of loans over a 2 year period (sick, huh? :( ).

Anyone have experience with settling on their own?

The settlement process is a negotiation, that's all. They made thier offer, now you can counter offer. More than likely, the total is going to go up as the length of payment extends. In the end, they just want to get the account paid and closed.
