Well first, we're going to need more info. I'm assuming you defaulted on a payday loan.

You live in IL?
What are the names of your lenders?
How much did you borrow from each?
How much did you pay before default?
How did you obtain the loan (internet or storefront)?

You cannot be "garnished" without a court order. What they're likely refering to is a voluntary wage assignment which is usually part of most PDL contracts and is revocable at any time.

Give us the info above first and we'll guide you along the way.

???Usually the pdl laws will be applicable on the state in which the loan has originated. You should check whether or not pdl is legal in that state in which it has originated. If it is legal, then you need to make sure whether or not payday loan companies from where you have taken the loan are licensed to operate in that state. If it is licensed, then you will have to pay both the principal and interests. Otherwise, you are required to pay only the principal amount. If you default on the loan, then the lenders may file a lawsuit against you. Once the court issues a judgment against you, the lenders can garnish your wages.???

let me start first by saying drop the tude,and i didn't delete it.i MOVED it to an admin forum for review.why?simple.that post above me is saying is that the location of the LENDER is what applies,and that can't be more wrong.the state laws of the BORROWER always apply.so i am willing to give sort of a "benefit of the doubt"here,but sorry that post basically says where the LENDER is located apply.now i am giving fair warning.i won't have posts like this again.what you are posting is totally wrong and since deliberate posting of misinformation is a TOS(terms of service)violation for this site.further posts like this will be deleted.got that.the state laws of the BORROWER always apply.

Plus the fact that, when you're not posting misinformation, you, on multiple occasions, simply restate someone else's answer that was already given.
