Hi!
Welcome to the Forums!
Good to know that you have a great job. Not many people have this kind of a job. I don't think taking out a credit card to purchase these stuffs is a good idea. The interest rates on the credit cards are quite high. So, I would suggest you to save a decent amount of money and then purchase the stuffs.

Learn early in life to save your money....rims dont really impress anyone. Save your money for something more important...like a home purchase.

Hi,
Credit cards are not things that can be used for small purchases like what you've spoken about. They carry sky-high interest rates and therefore taking out a credit card for such a petty reason will be foolish enough. Manage your finances and save money so that you may get what you want. Credit cards must be used for bigger financial issues.

This is ridiculous.
First of all, if you have such a fabulous job, why can't you come up with $2000? That's not really that large of an amount of money for someone who claims to be doing well for himself.
Secondly, seriously? Rims? Is this 1987?
Save your money. Regardless of what you think, NO job is guaranteed. No one is irreplaceable. Squirrel away your money for a rainy day, not for frivilous crap.

Hi,
If you think you have a good job where you get enough money then start saving some amount of money every month leaving aside your necessary expenses. The more you save the better. You can then use this accumulated money to buy rims. In this way you can even get into the good habit of saving.
Hope the advise comes of help.
Thanks :)

Applying for a CC to handle discretionary spending would not be my first choice.
Have you considered a personal loan? If you are not currently a member of a credit union, that might be a good incentive to establish a relationship with one. They are a great source of lower interest loans, and also of decent credit cards. If you dont currently have an installment loan, adding one would also improve your mix of credit when calculating your score.
