I got a call AT WORK from a so called debt collection agency regarding an illegal internet loan that I payed the principle on and then sent a ACH revocation to. I got a response from them stating that washington state laws do not apply to them about 1 week ago and just got a call from this collection agency who would not verify that I owe money and said that they company I owe money to was quickcash which I have never recieved a loan from at all, I am just guessing that it is from the one I sent the letter to and they changed their name. I asked them to validate and they said they would not, they are off shore I can tell by the accent and poor english. I told them that I do not owe any money and that I am not even sure who they are talking about and that they could not contact me at work any longer. They then said they would transfer to the legal department and I would be prosecuted. I was so shooken up that I do not remember the name of the collection company or law group as they call themselves so I cannot report them. Should I expect these people to call again?

they will call as they are scum in INDIA.the way to stop the calls is to not engage them.hang up without a word, but you can use any numbers you have to file a police report, and an AG complaint.they throw out the arrest threat to try and see if you will bite on it and pay them.they can't do squat except call because as stated they are in INDIA and a complete scam.the more calls you take.the more they will make.file the report and complaint and ignore,or hang up on them.it's really not worth your time to talk to them again.

Do what PaulMergel says, hang up on them; it's not worthwhile trying to argue with them, guaranteed they'll disagree with everything you say and throw out all kinds of quasi-legal terminology to try and scare you into sending them money. File the complaints and when you get a call, hang up.
